The Hunt to find work experience.

As part of the college course i’m doing, I have to find 45 days of work experience. As I initially started thinking about the concept of work experience, I thought about all the different jobs in the Music Industry, that would be of interest to me. Jobs that have always stuck out to me is working in Theatre and being part of a Pit Band / Orchestra and creating music to accompany the performance. This job stuck out to me as I have always had an interest in the Theatre and going to see shows and live performances and I am fascinated by how the accompaniment of music to film and theatre fits so well and helps to portray the emotion and reflects the highs and lows of the storyline.

During my research on work experience, I found out that most theatres and venues do not have a house band they musical performance company that have hired the venue normally have their own band that follow the group to the different venues or it’s a freelance band/orchestra that work for different companies and are just brought in to play the songs and accompany the performance. Another job that took my interest was teaching. So I am going to contact my old school and my Junior school too see if I could carry out my work experience with them and help to teach the student music, as part of this job I would also love to help with the school production and help do the music for the school.
