Start of our 'Context' project...

Monday, January 28th 2019.

Today we were given our project brief for our Context project. This includes 3 tasks for 3 units. Task 1: Songwriting in context, task 2: Music performance in context and task 3: Music Production in context. These 3 projects include us getting into 2 bands are working with each other to create music. Each member of the band has to choose a song to write about and analyse the lyrics to and in these bands we have to learn and perform the songs. We also all have to write an original song that will be performed by the band. This is a challenge as the song we have to create must contain lyrics and have parts for all instrumentalists. For each of our songs we have to direct the production and performance of the song.

Monday, 4th February 2019.

Today was the first day in the rehearsal rooms that we started working on our new projects in our new bands, In this rehearsals we worked on getting the songs that everyone wanted to go up on the white board and decide who wanted to work of each of these songs. The song that I chose is 'Billy Joels', "Goodnight, Saigon" I chose this song as it was written about the Vietnam War and the lyrics are very meaningful and tell the story of what the soldiers went through at War. In this rehearsal I worked on getting the sheet music ready for people to learn my song. Meanwhile, other people in the band worked on learning other peoples songs.
