Blog Post 3: Rehearsal session 3, today (27th September 2018)I was the first one to arrive in the Music room, later followed by our Guitarist, and then a while later by the 2 others. This made the rehearsal have a unproductive start as we could properly run through the songs. So i spent the time making sure everything was ready for when they came, so that time was not wasted after then. So I got the cables ready and plugged in along with setting up the Microphone and putting it on the stand. Once the other 2 arrived we quickly moved onto the first song. We continued rehearsing ‘ You Know I’m No Good’ and we tried to decide on a another song, the process of deciding was actually very difficult as we couldn’t agree on a song that suited all of us. eventually , we created a list of 4-5 songs that we will be rehearsing in our next session, we did this by everyone stating a single song that they wanted to do and we all agreed. Unfortunately, we didn’t get around to rehearsing the second song which is ‘100 degrees’ by Zoology as we didn’t spend our time effectively deciding what songs we were going to do. Hopefully now we have created a list, and I have learnt the songs the next rehearsal will be much more effective. With only a short while until our first performance. It is important that we move on quickly and get all the other songs learnt and begin perfecting and polishing them. For our first performance we will be performing at ‘Dukes’ which is a pub/ club in Aylesbury, where we will be performing a short set of around 4-5 songs for about 20-30 minutes. This will go towards our assessment and will be marked. Along with the performance of the songs, it is also important that we interact with the audience as that is what makes a performance memorable. My goal for the next couple of sessions is to bond with the group more and to be able to run through the songs seamlessly and be able to replicate what the set will look alike while we are on stage.
