Monday 6th January 2020

Back to college after the Christmas holiday, my plans for this week are to continue with my unit 10 project. To work towards the completion of the project. My aims for the next 2 weeks are to work towards getting the demo recordings done to then be able to work on writing the evaluation and conclusion for the project. For my evaluation, I am looking to write a piece of why the microphone choices I have used were the best and why I will be using them for my unit 13 recordings.

I have now completed a large portion of the recording stage and have recorded lots of short demos testing out different microphone placements. As of Wednesday 8th January, I have completed the piano and guitar recordings, leaving me with the vocals recordings still to be completed. Next week I am going to record the piano with an SM57 to compare the different microphones. This will give me the option to compare and contrast the different recordings to confirm what recording technique and microphone is best for the job.
