Today I worked on recording a video demo, this helped me to visualise how I was going to create this video in the real take and what I was going to need and want with me when I am recording. Firstly, I realised how important it is to use lighting and get the lighting correct for the video as this has a huge impact on how the visuals and professionalism of the video. I also practiced recording audio, for this I used Logic pro X and rigged up a condenser microphone and pop filter to record the audio. This worked well and recorded good, high quality audio and was easy to export as an MP3 and import into the video editing software. To match up the video with the audio was easy as I used a similar concept to the clap board, but I just used a clap. This has the same effect and makes syncing up audio very simple and easy. Editing the video, I used iMovie which is the basic Apple software, which helped me construct a good demo for the video. I used some creative ideas, where I have used stop motion animation to introduce the video, I have since decided that that doesn't look professional and doesn't flow with the video. I also had the idea to use a blank whiteboard and insert text on top of the whiteboard in post production. This would give me the opportunity to add animation and insert type at different times and explain the topic along with the video. Since then I have changed with idea as adding type onto something like this could be very difficult and time consuming.

I am glad I have completed this demo video as it has given me an opportunity to find any problems with my method in recording and make changed to my plans for shooting the real one.

During the next couple of weeks I intend to shoot the real video and begin the process of editing. This may be a long process and getting the video to look professional could take some work. I have much happier knowing that I know how the process of shooting is going to work and what I need to do to improve.
