Band Rehearsals

Todays band rehearsals were very successful, as we managed our time every effectively to ensure that the time we had was maximised and we got a lot more work done. We spent the first half of the session working on the song “Heart’ which is the cover we are working on. After rehearsing this for a while we started getting this song much better and our transitions as a band were more efficient and smooth. After the break we worked on my composition and worked on developing the song and working out the best arrangement for the song to make it most interesting and entertaining. This was very successful and we decided that we would start the song with just an acoustic guitar outlining the chord progression then add in after 2 full progressions. The electric guitar playing the single notes from each chord to outline the melody. After another 2 progressions we will have the other guitar come in and play the top line melody over the top. We will be playing along to a backing track that I have made and that will consist of the drum track we will be playing along to.

With only 1 rehearsal left before the gig, we will be spending the last session working through the songs and making sure we know them as best we can.

During this week before the next rehearsal I will be working on the backing track to make sure that it is ready for us to rehearse to it and make sure we are familiar with with the track to we transition smoothly and promptly.
