Context Project Band... Equality and Diversity.

Today we worked in our project bands to work on composing a song for our project to meet the Unit 5 requirements. The task for this project is to write a song and compose a piece of music that is related to the topic of ‘Diversity’ Our plan for this project is too, compose an instrumental song to support the lyrics for the song. The song lyrics will be what outline the ideas we are trying to portray. We will also be outlining ‘Diversity’ in the music as we can show the diversity through the music we are playing. For example: mixing the instruments and showing the diverse capability of each instrument and how they can all unite together and harmonise really well. We have worked on an instrumental song at the moment as we have not yet worked on writing lyrics. We have currently written an ‘A’ and ‘B’ section for the song. I like the fact that for the A section it is written in the key of G major, which then contrasts with the B section as it is in the minor key of Bm. I like how the 2 keys contrast with each other. We did this as it shows the diversity between the Major and the Minor keys.

The plans for next week's rehearsals is too continue with writing this song, possibly get some basic lyrics written. Develop the song and make it neater and uniformed. Start writing in more parts for other instrumentalists to make the song more full.
