Blog Post: 17. Context Band Rehearsals…
In today’s lesson we continued to work through the songs we had all chosen. My role was not so prominent in this lesson as I don’t have a role in the performance of the song. This gave me a chance to learn the song I am doing and get completely confident with the song before we rehearse it as a band. The song the other band members were working on was ‘Avenged Sevenfold’ “So Far Away” The song took some rehearsing but it sounded really good after some practice. I was working on Billy Joel’s “Goodnight, Saigon” which was my song choice. This song uses a lot of slash chords which make the changes slightly harder to get into. This took some getting used to but it’s something I have got used to playing. The timing of the song is 2 beats of each chord. Its is still only a 4/4 time signature and is easy enough to play with a bit of practice.
